3 - 5 - 07

Check out Spinner on AOL to hear new stuff from Bright Eyes, !!!, and Air. Speaking of new stuff, I recently heard Kaiser Chief’s “new” single Ruby. WTF. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more boring and uninspired track. What happened to the Kaisers? Were they always this bad?

Klaxons – Myths of the Near Future

Because a hyped up and hated band needed more hype.

Beginning with Gravity’s Rainbow, the Klaxons had me. They immediately jumped to the top of my most played on iTunes and iPod. There was just something in me that loved all the nonsense and noise mixed with falsetto vocals. Now, with their full-length debut, the trend continues and I’m on “Klaxons are so amazing!” train that pitchfork or NME or whoever the hell started.

Battles "Atlas"

Holy crap.
Anyone who hasn’t seen the new Battles video should stop what they’re doing and watch it. In fact, watch it several times. The whole thing looks damn great. Video was directed by Timothy Saccenti who I believe also did the peaches Downtown video. Looking forward to more videos from him.

Schools Out / Muse

Schools Out!
Thank you nature and all those involved to making this horrible freezing Wednesday a non school day. Yesterday I had to partly walk home in freezing temperature while listening to some serious Muse.
Speaking of Muse. I so bought Absolution and I don’t think I’ve been this blown away from a modern “Rock Album” since Sing the Sorrow 2 years ago. The best way I can describe it is it’s like the apocalypse raining down on humanity while nuclear bombs fall and all the while a couple watches fallen earth from space. Meh. Either way I’m behind, at this point in their long career you either hate Muse or love 'em.

I hope I can use the day off to actually get things done. I need to read, and write two debate cases, which should be nothing, but the way I procrastinate I won’t be done till 3am tonight.
